The second and third rounds of the draft will take place on Friday evening, beginning at 5:00. The fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds will take place on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 in the morning.
Austin, a cornerback, and Hampton, a safety, are both expected by most to be selected sometime Saturday, when the three-day draft ends with rounds 4-7.
Austin projected as a potential early-round pick after a strong sophomore season in 2016, but he missed most of the last two seasons due to season-ending knee injuries that required surgery. But a reported 4.56 40-yard dash run at a personal pro day for scouts and a smooth recovery from his latest surgery has rebuilt his profile.
The bookmakers appear fairly confident there will be trades in the early stages of the draft, with the market entitled “will a top 10 pick be traded on draft day” heavily in favor of yes at -800 vs. no at +400. And despite a relatively underwhelming quarterback class, MyBookie.ag still believes more than three will be taken in the first-round. The over is the significant favorite (-500) for a line set at 3.5, with the under at +300.
Among the more obscure offerings is a wager from Sportsbetting.ag on whether the overall No.1 pick will cry before he greets Roger Goodell or not. Yes is +600 and no is -1500. MyBookie.ag appears confident Murray will be wearing a black suit (-350) rather than a blue (+200) or a grey one (+250). If he wants to make some extra money himself, he should ditch the suit altogether for odds of +1000.
